Plant Shift

love ♥ living ♥ vegan

Following a plant-based or vegan lifestyle, is about food, drink, clothes, shoes, body treatments, hair products and more.

It's a conscious decision to think, walk and possibly, talk a better lifestyle.

I support individuals who are thinking about making the shift, as well as, those who have already begun their plant-based journey.

Equinox Kombucha

Now it's not very often that you hear about a holiday resulting in a business plan, which fills a gap, which nobody realised existed! That's how Kombucha came about! . Chris Peters is the master mind behind this fermented tea and they are philanthropic too! They are working towards 50% of their our profits being donated to funding the development of humanitarian projects and rainforest conservation. Isn't that amazing?

What does Flower of Life Limited specialise in selling?

We have many plans for the future and we believe that we are at the beginning of a long and exciting journey.

Kombucha products

Where is Kombucha based?

We have a lovely new brewery in the beautiful valleys of Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire where we all call home.

Do you exclusively serve those who are local to you or can others who are further away access your products too? If so, how?

Our company started off supplying our healthy soft drink to the shops and cafe's of Hebden Bridge. After a successful summer, and constant demand for our product; we naturally started to expand. Thus you will now find Equinox Kombucha in shops, cafes and bars all over the UK, and even parts of Northern Europe. We are stocked in a variety of independent health food outlets and are hoping to expand into some larger high street shops soon.

What inspired you to create a business that solely focuses on specialist living teas?

We came across Kombucha whilst travelling in South-East Asia and we felt the benefits of it instantly. We returned to the UK with the knowledge and the ability to brew Kombucha, and felt obliged to share this amazing elixir with others. This is how Equinox Kombucha was born.

How easy is it for you to source cruelty free ingredients for your products?

We have spent a lot of time researching and obtaining the most sustainable ingredients for our drinks as this is very important to us. Where possible, we have sourced ingredients from fair trade.

For someone who hasn't tasted your products before & is indecisive about what to buy; what is your most popular product?

We have tried to cater for a range of tastes by creating a variety of flavours. The Wildberry flavour is more popular with the younger crowd, where-as, if you are like myself, you will go wild for the fiery ginger. We are working on introducing some new flavours soon, so watch this space. ;)

Is Kombucha owned by, or in partnership with, another company that tests on animals or sells non-vegan products?

Equinox Kombucha and Flower of Life as a company, will always be fully vegan. We also believe that it is important to be fully transparent in what we are doing.

What is your vision for the future of Kombucha?

Firstly our mission is to provide people seeking a healthier lifestyle with a refreshing drink to consume on a daily basis.
We have many visions and the main one has always been to put 50% of all our profits to fund the development of humanitarian projects and rainforest conservation.
All of the Equinox family passionately believe in replenishing and sustaining mother earth and her inhabitants. This was and always will be drive behind Equinox Kombucha.

In this video Lori talks about how Equinox Kombucha came about, where it's available, what their aims are, and, most striking of all, how they ring-fence, and use, 50% of their profits.
