Is it easy to find ready-made vegan cakes?
Myth: “Vegans must find it so hard to go without cakes and things for special occasions!”
I realised that this was a myth within a couple of years of becoming vegan. Here’s the proof…
back in 2010, we had moved home, and to celebrate the fact that it was ‘over,’ I purchased a number of cakes from Blue Lotus. Unfortunately, this business is now permanently closed.
for a surprise birthday party back in 2012, we ordered a range of cakes from The Heavenly Cake Company and I was happy to hear that range wowed everyone who could make it.
a few years ago, we got a few a variety of sweet treats from The Vegan Cakery, for about ten of us to share
my sister-in-law ordered a Peppa Pig chocolate orange birthday cake for her kids from Cake Rani
a couple of years ago, we order a birthday cake from Deb’s Pantry
So is it hard to be vegan and celebrate with vegan cakes without anyone feeling as if they have been deprived of a ‘good dessert’? I would wholeheartedly say yes!
