Eating out: Friday night with the Gourmet Girls
When in Brighton...
We were in Brighton for the weekend and the lovely hubby, Suraj, did a bit of research on vegan food, which is 'outside the norm.' (We wanted to try something 'different') He came across the Gourmet Girls and we had the opportunity to eat vegan 'Fish n Chips'
None of us had eaten a vegan version of Fish n Chips, so we booked a table and hoped for the best.
Our take on the vegan Fish n Chips
We were excited and yet I was a little cautious. For me, if it tastes like fish, whether it is or not; I'll be put off eating it.
We started off a little reserved and didn't order the full 3 course menu each but once we tucked in we ended up ordering 3 starters, 3 desserts and 2 mains.
It was a delicious meal for sure, but it was also nice to be part of a regular pop-up. It had a friendly family feel to it.
More about Friday nights with the Gourmet Girls
Titbits are the caterers behind the Gourmet Girls.
The pop-up is every Friday night in a little café called Fanny's of Hanover in Brighton .
What's served will be vegan, globally influenced, gourmet cuisine. The menu offers a set 3 course meal with a different theme each week. In the past, themes have included, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, 'Fish n Chips' and Gourmet Bangers n Mash.
Would I go to a Friday night with Titbits again?
I would definitely go again!
It's a treat in so many ways! The food, the café itself, the walk to the café, the service, the community feel, the fact that you can bring your own drinks and I'll say it again; the food!
