Dining out: NAMA Artisan Raw Foods
Update May 2018: NAMA has closed permanently
Myth busting - eating out is a problem for vegans!
I have often heard people say that eating vegan must be really restrictive and eating out would be even more horrendous.
For those of you who have been reading my reviews, you'll see that eating out is far from restrictive or difficult. In fact, I'm often surprised with the range of items on the menu that aren't marked vegan but are "vegan by accident." This combined, with the willingness and enthusiasm of the staff to amend dishes and get creative, makes eating out a pleasure! I get even more excited when I go somewhere and the food is extraordinary...
More myth busting - gourmet vegan options don't exist
I have been to a number of restaurants where the vegan food is super creative, it's off the wall in terms of presentation and the taste is mind blowing! So, fine dining and indulging in gourmet food is definitely not a rare opportunity for vegans.
Something about NAMA
NAMA is a humble gem. It doesn't make a point of showing off its beauty, so you may even walk passed it and not notice it!
When you're inside, it's nearly always busy, so try and book a table if possible. It's informal, friendly, relaxed and the staff know their stuff and are keen to make sure you have a great experience!
All of this is before you've even looked at the menu! Their food is so different and of course, delicious! So...it's one of the places that I love going to for a meal!
So what was that about eating out being difficult and boring?
Don't worry about what others say or assume. They simply don't know. But...explore eating out as a vegan and you won't be disappointed!
